Imtech: 75 million euro orders in English educational market
Gouda - Imtech (technical services provider in Europe) has recently
acquired orders amounting to approximately 75 million euro in the
educational market in the UK. These orders confirm Imtech's strong
position in the English universities, colleges, private education
initiatives and subsidised educational facilities market.
In the UK, Imtech is the technology partner of numerous universities
and colleges, and has been for decades, in many cases. Imtech also
has a strong position in both the market for government-subsidised
educational facilities and the PFI (Private Finance Initiatives)
market.
Universities and Colleges
Nottingham Trent University has selected Imtech as technology partner
to perform a substantial upgrade of its monumental, centuries-old
main building. In Derby, Imtech will provide the technology for the
historic Roundhouse building, an old industrial complex formerly used
for steam engine repairs that is to be converted into a high-tech
campus building for Derby College. Imtech is involved in the
technological renovation of South James College and The Mandeville
School in London. In Colchester, Imtech is redeveloping the
Colchester Institute.
Private Education Initiatives
Imtech, as technology partner, is involved in the second phase of a
PFI initiative for six new schools in Norwich and a new training
centre for Epping College in Epping. An interesting market is that of
privately financed, exclusive student housing in London. Imtech has
been chosen as the technical partner for the realisation of the
complete technical infrastructure of the innovative, privately
financed Nido concept in London. Nido is short for Nidology®, an
exclusive student community housed in safe, high-tech student
residences. These student residences, provided with optimal security,
wireless internet and VoIP, form a unique combination of private and
communal areas. The Nidology concept also provides for additional
facilities for study, entertainment, health and fitness.
Subsidised Education Sector
Imtech is also involved in several government-subsidised educational
initiatives, including accommodations for hundreds of students in
Carnegie Village in Leeds and Goodricke College in York.
Growth in the UK
These orders in the educational market contribute to the further
growth of Imtech in the UK and compensate for the current market
hesitation particularly seen in the market for private buildings.
