Wolters Kluwer Sells French Healthcare Publishing Activities to Galilée

Alphen aan den Rijn (September 30, 2013) - Wolters Kluwer today announced that it has completed the disposal of its French healthcare publishing activities to Galilée. This divestiture is part of the broader Pharma divestment program originally announced in July 2011. Since that time, the pharma-related assets, including the activities sold today, have been treated as assets held for sale and have been included in discontinued operations. The French assets included in today's disposal were part of the Legal & Regulatory portfolio and encompass healthcare magazines and journals for pharmacists, veterinarians, dentists, nurses and physicians, as well as related trade show and training activities. NewsMed - a company held by Galilée - will take on the healthcare publishing activities located in France, and Galilée takes on directly activities in the United Kingdom. The divestment will enable Wolters Kluwer Legal & Regulatory to focus on its core legal and compliance information and software offerings. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
